The different architectural styles in modern architecture can be broken down into five different categories. These are-Technological, Energetic, Neoclassical, Elegant and Art Deco. Each of these has a distinct style of construction and each style is associated with a particular period in history.

The Industrial Revolution is one of the most influential periods in modern architecture. The products that were made at this time are being replaced by much more efficient ones. The aim of the Industrial Revolution was to reduce the amount of work required to produce goods. Also, there was an increased emphasis on technological developments in the work place. The resulting design is an elegant design that was simple and sleek.

Western Architecture is another form of architectural style. This style is typically based on the use of mass and space. In this style, the mass or dimension is used to provide access to spaces which can be attached to a building. The building is either a combination of rooms or multiple different spaces.

The architecture used is often personalised, for example, the use of stone is used to create unique and imaginative rooms that reflect an individual’s personality.

This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the various styles and the history behind them. There are many books and articles available that deal with this subject. One of the best sources of information is a guidebook such as “Modern Architecture: What You Need to Know to Start a New Architectural Career” by Ken Atkinson.
